External warehouse with roof and soundproofing

Kraft Baustoffe, currently the largest building materials dealer in the Munich area, has opened an open-air warehouse for its new Höhenkirchen-Siegertsbrunn branch with pallet and cantilever racks from OHRA. The racks are not only equipped with roofs, but - since strict noise protection requirements had to be implemented - they also have rear wall cladding that serves as a soundproofing element.

In 2019, Kraft merged the Höhenkirchen and Wolfratshausen locations into the new Höhenkirchen-Siegertsbrunn branch. The site offers a significantly larger area of available land, so that customers can be presented with the full product range of building materials for practically any construction trade - from civil engineering and landscaping though drywall construction, to roofing and plumbing.

Once again, Kraft equipped the new outdoor warehouse with pallet and cantilever racks from OHRA, for the storage of this multitude of different materials. Ohra racks have already proven their quality at other branches operated by the building materials dealer. This is because OHRA only uses solid steel profiles for the load-bearing elements of its racks. This forms the basis of their high load-bearing capacity and the slim design of the racks. The pallet racks offer custom loads of up to 4,500 kg, the uprights of the cantilever racks carry up to 5,000 kg, and each individual arm up to 1,000 kg.

Another advantage of OHRA was that each rack was individually tailored to the customer's requirements. Kraft involved the rack specialists right from the start of the planning stage for the satellite warehouse. In this way, questions regarding storage, statics, drainage and noise protection could be considered at an early stage and implemented cost-effectively in an efficient storage system. This also included equipping the racks with OHRA roof arms and trapezoidal sheet roofing. In addition, the racks on the property boundary were equipped with a substructure to which noise protection walls could be installed on site. This enabled enough storage capacity to be created for Kraft's broad range, while at the same time meeting the strict noise protection requirements of the City of Munich.
